Trauma-informed somatic nutrition therapy for embodied belonging - supporting women through eating disorders, chronic conditions, and burnout.

BRISBANE + AUSTRALIA-WIDE

Alitus exists to reimagine what healing can be for sensitive, high-functioning women who have lost their spark and long to come home to themselves. Rooted in biomedical physiology and nervous system science, and held within a compassionate, embodied framework, our work restores connection to hunger, fullness, pleasure, and self-trust. Integrating physiology, embodiment, and cyclical wisdom, Alitus offers not just information, but transformation – a return to safety in the body and belonging in the world.

Meet the Founder, Emily

accredited dietitian / credentialled eating disorder clinician / intuitive eating counsellor / somatic IFS-informed practitioner / women’s circle facilitator

A career change out of teaching and into dietetics held the promise of helping me heal my relationship with food… but 2 degrees later, fully qualified to practice traditional dietetics, I still hadn’t healed, and I felt ill-equipped to hold the depth of the souls I was sitting across from in my consults. Souls whose bodies had found ways to make the unbearable bearable, who were carrying a lifetime of pain and had nowhere to take it.

I had to reimagine the care I was providing. Alitus is that reimagining. And somewhere along the way, my own healing unfolded. Through somatics, nervous system care, and deep tending, I reclaimed what was always within me - my truth, my sensitivity, my story. I learned to hold the parts of me that had been working impossibly hard to hold everything together. And now I am here to hold yours. I work with women navigating eating disorders, chronic symptoms, and burnout - supporting them to understand their bodies, rather than fight them.

My work is gentle, trauma-informed, and grounded in nervous system science. But most of all, it’s human.

  • your body feels reactive, sensitive, or unpredictable

  • you’ve tried everything, but nothing has addressed the deeper layers

  • you’re tired of fighting yourself and want a different way

There is always a bright side and something to learn or even find humour in. She herself is a true reminder of the power in a strong and educated woman. I’d recommend her to absolutely everyone who needs to come home to their body.

  • "I only wish I met Emily sooner but also it feels like perfect timing."

I feel totally myself. It is the first time actually enjoying talking about sensitive topics besides from seeming a danger to myself or just troubled, like it’s mandatory to “fix” me.

It’s so refreshing to know I have much better care nowadays. It takes time to find your person, to know that with this one person you can actually trust & want to talk to them because they understand & see you in a way that feels right. I only wish I met Emily sooner but also it feels like perfect timing.

  • "I value Emily’s patience while working through hard truths. "

I value Emily’s patience while working through hard truths. Emily has an excellent way to tying in her knowledge to the client’s needs. She has a holistic and safe approach to developing a better understanding of disordered eating patterns and how this affects our body and mind.
